Simplicity - © Maree, Photographer
Simplicity is not the same thing as destitution, or
self-imposed deprivation.
The practice of simplicity is all
about sufficiency or there being enough --
what the ancients called "the Middle Way" or the
"Golden Mean."
It has to do with finding a graceful
balance in life where we have enough
material possessions to provide for our basic needs,
plus some comforts and luxuries that may not be
required for basic survival
but are appropriate to a dignified and
self-actualizing life.
